Formed in Melbourne, Australia 1981, this very influential world-renowned band has ventured from early ethereal post-punk gothic new wave electro rock, into medieval and rennaissance music and a wide range of percussive world music and ambient. The 1996 album Spiritchaser reached number 1 on the USA Billboard Top World Music Albums Chart. Female vocalist Lisa Gerrard has composed for and sung in numerous movie soundtracks including Gladiator.
