Black Lung was formed in Melbourne during 1994 as an offshoot of David Thrussell's Snog project: to showcase instrumental pieces ranging from dark ambient to heavy, sinister techno-post-industrial-dark-electronica and IDM ("intelligent dance music"); pre-dating and inspiring later genre terms such as 'witch-house' and 'glitch-hop'. As of early 2015 Black Lung is still active, has released around 20 albums and EPs, toured internationally and been a huge influence on post-industrial dark electronic music genres that have developed through the 1990s, 2000s & 2010s.
